Tally-Ho! Springtime Foliage and Herbs
Welcome Spring with verdant aromas of freshly-cut leaves and delightful seasonal herbs.
This uplifting candle pays tribute to Epping Forest's forgotten seasonal spectacle 'The Epping Hunt'. The Easter Monday tradition was also known as 'The Cockney Hunt', in recognition of the eager masses that made their way from the crowded East-End to enjoy a day in the idyllic forest and neighbouring towns such as Wanstead, Buckhurst Hill and Loughton. The tradition continued for nearly 600 years.
Amongst the lush new foliage, joyful shouts of 'Tally-Ho!' (a traditional hunting call) would ring out across the woodland, as locals and visitors enjoyed the natural surrounds.
